Ever since The Netherlands Open Air Museum was founded (1912), books, periodicals, photographs, films, maps and drawings have been collected. However, it was not until shortly after The Open Air Museum became a national museum in 1942 that it had a genuine Library and Documentation Archive. Since the museum was privatised at the beginning of the nineties, the Library and Documentation Archive have together formed BiDoc.
Where: BiDoc is located in The Open Air Museum’s administration building.
Opening times: BiDoc is open on working days from Mondag to Thursday from 9.00 a.m. till 12.00 p.m. and from 12.30 p.m. till 15.00 p.m. On Fryday BiDoc is open from 9.00 a.m. till 12.00 p.m. To make sure that BiDoc staff will have time to help you, it is advisable to notify them in advance of your visit.
